Afterlife

BRAND Ceylon Today / MADE BY TBWA Sri Lanka

Sri Lanka’s national English daily Ceylon Today has part of their initiative to encourage and highlight the importance of recycling, launched a series of ‘Afterlife’ ads. Even though, Sri Lankans frequently recycles, they only recycle in big quantities, forgetting the tiny pieces of paper. Ceylon Today made it their mission to put Sri Lanka on a path to recycle all pieces of paper, including the small ones claiming that “even a tiny piece has an afterlife”. 3 ads were produced depicting 3 different devil masks made up of Chads or the tiny pieces of paper left behind after being punched. It was a pertinent reminder – that even the tiniest piece of paper recycled, goes a long way in saving the planet – demonstrated by the devil masks, which in Sri Lankan arts and culture, represent the afterlife.
